Boy hospitalised after school incident in Bankstown

A boy remains in a critical condition in hospital following an incident at a school in Bankstown yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just after midday (Tuesday 11 September 2018), emergency services attended a school on The Avenue to assist an injured 10-year-old boy.

Police have been told the boy was involved in a game with a group of other students when he was allegedly assaulted and fell backwards.

The child was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead where he remains in a critical but stable condition. It’s understood the boy has a pre-existing medical condition.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended and spoke with the students involved.

The boy’s condition will be monitored; however, no further police action is expected.
