Break-in offences at Ipswich

Detectives from the Ipswich District Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a 19-year-old man with multiple offences following investigations into a series of shop break-ins committed at Redbank Plains last week.

It will be alleged on February 9, between 1am and 4am, the man broke into a shop at Booval and four shops on School Road.

The man only stole a small amount of cash from one of the locations.

Following extensive investigations by the Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch, detectives located and arrested the 19-year-old local man at a Holmview address on February 12.

He has been charged with four counts of enter premises with intent to commit indicatable offence, and one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence, attempted enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, dangerous operation of a vehicle.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on April 2.

The investigation is continuing regarding a second male involved in these offences. Police are appealing for anyone with information about these offences to come forward.
