Mitchell Shire Council's Parks and Gardens team has completed this year's annual beds planting program, adding a splash of colour to some of our most popular outdoor spaces.
Over the past few weeks, the team has been busy preparing five garden beds at four high-profile parks across the shire:
- Hadfield Park in Wallan
- Hudson Park in Kilmore
- Memorial Park in Broadford
- Apex Park in Seymour (two beds)
A total of 750 colourful plants - including pansies, salvias and daisies - have been added to the garden beds. These vibrant flowers were selected to create eye-catching displays and bring some winter colour to our open spaces.
The program included soil preparation and fertilising, with the planting timed to ensure the best seasonal impact. While it's not Council's largest planting program for the year, it's an important one that helps keep our high-profile parks looking their best.
Next up, the Parks and Gardens crew will be preparing plant lists for infill planting and new garden beds, as well as mulching garden areas across the shire.
