The Territorys international trade and investment attributesand rich history of doing business with our neighbours across the Asia Pacificregion will be on show during the Arafura Games.
The Business Engagement Program, which is occurringalongside the Games, has received more than 100 registrations from internationaldelegates including business people, investors, diplomats and Embassy staff.
The delegates represent more than 16 countries including ourclosest neighbours Timor Leste and Indonesia. Delegates from the Philippines,Japan and China as well as those further afield including the US, United ArabEmirates and Hungary have also registered.
The Business Engagement Program will promote the Territorysunique international trade and investment opportunities with a view to creatingjobs and business connections while strengthening regional relationships.
The 15 sector-focused sessions will be held at the DarwinConvention Centre from 29 April to 4 May and topics will include:
An outlook on the Darwin property market
An overview of the Territorys resources sectorfeaturing a panel discussion with the Territorys leading gold producers andexplorers
Disaster preparedness and building capacityacross the Asia Pacific region with Australias National Critical Care andTrauma Response Centre
An onshore gas development local industry forumled by the Chamber of Commerce NT, with an industry discussion
A session aimed at Small to Medium Enterprises(SMEs) which will give an overview of what Territory business need to do tobecome export ready
A highlight of the Business Engagement Program is a free exhibitioncurated to illustrate the history of Northern Territory trade from exchange ofgoods between pre-colonial Aboriginal Territorians and people from Makassar inIndonesia, to the early days of gold mining and cattle farming.

The trade exhibition will be open to the public daily from27 April until 4 May on Level 2 at the Darwin Convention Centre.
