Bringing Santa back to Bay

In less than two weeks' time, we'll be welcoming Santa back to Holdfast Bay at the much-anticipated return of the Glenelg Christmas Pageant.

The fun starts at 10.30am on Sunday 27 November and everyone is invited to come along to cheer on the festive floats, performers, musicians and of course, the big man in red himself.

Travelling down Jetty Road Glenelg from Rose Street, near Brighton Road, the pageant wraps up on Colley Terrace - but Santa will be sticking around for the afternoon.

Santa and Mrs Claus will be available to meet and have a photo with from 12pm - 4pm at the Bay Discovery Centre in the Glenelg Town Hall.

Tickets are required but they are free to collect from the ticket booth which will be under a white marquee located opposite the Foreshore playground.

And to make life easier for families with prams, there'll be a dedicated pram parking bay next to the ticket booth.

Moseley Square will be turned into a Children's Christmas Village with lots of activities including ornament making and Christmas crafts, fun food, live music as well as a Santa letter writing station.

Children can post their letters to Santa via the Australia Post Heritage letter box which is located at Colley Terrace near Moseley Square.

Letters must be posted before 2 December in order to receive a reply and should be addressed to Santa at NORTH POLE 9999. Remember to attach a 65c Christmas card-only stamp.

Several roads surrounding Jetty Road Glenelg will be closed for the event from 5am on Sunday 27 November. The tram will also be terminating at the Brighton Road stop.

Colley Terrace will be closed from Anzac Highway to Jetty Road.

All roads will reopen by 2pm on the same day.
