The Crisafulli Government is backing Queensland tourism operators as they showcase their unique experiences to more than 720 international buyers from 31 countries this week, as part of the Australian Tourism Exchange 2025 (ATE25).

The event brings together 1,500 exhibitors who will present to industry leaders from more than 30 countries at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre over the next four days.

ATE25 is hosted by Tourism Australia, in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland, and supported by Brisbane Economic Development Agency.

The Crisafulli Government's 20 Year Tourism Plan, to be released mid-year, will be critical in shaping the State's position in the global tourism market to maximise the legacy of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Before and after ATE25, Tourism and Events Queensland hosted 63 familarisation programs for international media and trade representatives, who have had 346 Queensland experiences across all corners of the State.

Premier David Crisafulli said the event was a great opportunity to showcase Queensland in the lead up to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

"We know we live in a wonderful part of Australia, and this is our chance to make our mark on the global market," Premier Crisafulli said.

"While 2032 is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, it's brilliant to see so many of the State's tourism operators displaying at ATE25, to keep Queensland top of mind for international travellers."

Minister for the Enviornment and Tourism Andrew Powell said Brisbane was extremely fortunate to host ATE25, which is expected to inject $9 million into the Queensland economy.

"Brisbane has completely changed since the Australian Tourism Exchange was last held here 17 years ago, and we're so excited to have this opportunity to showcase our capital city and our State to such a large, influential audience," Minister Powell said.

"Queensland tourism operators have certainly made the most of this fantastic hosting opportunity with 169 operators, including 17 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander operators, taking over a quarter of the trade show floor – the most ever for our State.

"Connections are the foundation of our industry and opportunities like this are crucial to driving international visitors our way in the lead up to, during and well beyond the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Tourism Australia Managing Director Philipa Harrison said ATE was a chance for our tourism industry to meet face-to-face with key tourism decision makers from around the world.

"It's a great opportunity to tell them about the incredible products and experiences Australia has to offer for international holidaymakers."

Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Craig Davidson said media and trade visits had spanned the State.

"People simply love Queensland when they are exposed to it, so we've gone to considerable effort to ensure they are taken out and about and given a true taste of Queensland's beauty, culture, adventure and eco-tourism experiences," he said.

The Australian Tourism Exchange was last held in Queensland in 2023 on the Gold Coast, while Melbourne played host to last year's event.
