Broadmeadows: Cash, $200K Stolen Poles Seized

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man after a trailer loaded with more than $200K in aluminium was stolen from a Campbellfield warehouse earlier this week.

It is alleged the 45-foot flatbed trailer, carrying large aluminium poles, was stolen from outside the Sydney Road business about 5am on Monday 16 June.

Police were called the following day when the trailer was observed being driven along Sydney Road about 2.10am.

Officers responded, locating the truck abandoned on Cavendish Street, Broadmeadows.

The vehicle was searched and a backpack containing $10,350 cash was seized.

The Dog Squad tracked the alleged offender who fled on foot and was located hiding in a creek REMOVE grassland area off Ripplebrook Drive.

The 39-year-old Meadow Heights man was arrested and is being interviewed.

Investigators are searching for a second offender believed to be involved.

The investigation remains ongoing.
