The Hobsons Bay community can have its say on what matters most to them as Council begins planning its 2027-28 Annual Budget.
Council's budget planning process for the next financial year is already underway, with community members, businesses and other stakeholders invited to share what they value most, so Council can better understand community priorities before detailed budget planning begins.
The budget is developed through a staged process that brings together community priorities, key stakeholder feedback and annual planning. This process helps ensure budget decisions are informed by community priorities and focused on what matters most to the community.
Participants are being asked to rank their top three priorities from topics, including:
Caring for our environment and future
Being involved in Council decisions
Creating greener neighbourhoods
Places to learn, connect and belong
Getting around safely
Supporting active lifestyles
Supporting a safe and connected community
Bringing our community to life
Keeping our neighbourhoods clean
The survey results will help inform Council's development of the 2027-28 Annual Budget, with a draft budget to be made available for community feedback in April next year.
Community members who complete the survey can also go into the draw to win one of three $50 gift cards.
The community survey is the first step in developing the 2027-28 budget, and will be open until Friday 27 November. The survey can be completed at participate.hobsobsbay.vic.gov.au. Residents are also receiving a reply-paid flyer in the latest edition of the council magazine.
