Builders Launch Darwin Advertising Blitz for Federal Election

Master Builders today launches it's Federal Election campaign in the Northern Territory including an advertising blitz.

Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders Australia and Dave Malone, CEO of Master Builders Northern Territory announced the campaign today.
"We are calling Labor and the Coalition for the policies that will deliver a desperately needed economic boost for the Territory and a stronger economy," Denita Wawn, CEO of Master Builders Australia said.
"We also don't want to see investment sucked out of the Territory with policies like Labor's plan to double Capital Gains Tax and restrict negative gearing. We need ALL incentives for housing investment to be kept on the table, we cannot risk doubling tax and restricting investment," she said.
The Electorate of Solomon has one off the highest levels of negative gearing in the entire nation. Nearly 20 per cent of taxpayers in this community are property investors and will be impacted by Labor's policies," Denita Wawn said.
"We want to see Darwin house builders busy, buying more HiLuxes, buying more from local suppliers, building a stronger local economy. That can't with Labor's policies to double capital gains tax and restrict negative gearing that will lead to up to 42,000 less new homes, 32, 000 less new jobs and an $11.8 billion hit to the the economy," Denita Wawn said,
"Both the major parties must deliver on their promises to build more in the Territory and to have fair access for local contractors to work on local projects," she said.
"We don't want to see promises to spend billions in the Territory that actually result in a tiny fraction in projects getting up and running," Denita Wawn said.
"Labor and the Coalition should be giving concrete promises to get projects in the Territory up and running so local builders and tradies can be working after the next Federal Government is elected," Denita Wawn said.
