Building fire, Capalaba

Police and emergency crews responded to reports of a fire at a Capalaba chemist this morning.

Police were called to the Old Cleveland Road address at around 4am and discovered the building was well alight.

Early information indicates a number of neighbouring businesses have also been affected.

In response to the smoke hazard, police have closed Old Cleveland Road in both directions from the intersections of Moreton Bay Road to Redland Bay Road and diversions are in place there.

A crime scene was declared, and an investigation commenced into the cause of the fire.

No one was harmed in the incident, however, extensive damage has been caused to the building.
