A young dad from Bundoora who always believed a big lottery win was written in the stars is now celebrating after pocketing a sensational $1.27 million in the weekend's TattsLotto draw.
The Melburnian held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4689, drawn Saturday 27 June 2026. Each entry scored $1,276,481.57.
Bleary-eyed from a night shift, the construction worker checked his TattsLotto ticket and was baffled to find he'd become a newly-minted millionaire.
"Thank you so much! I'm speechless," he laughed.
"I'd just finished a night shift and was sitting around, so I thought I'd check my TattsLotto ticket.
"Usually, before I check it, I tell my friends, 'Let's see if I've won another $10!'. But this time, I didn't say a word. I think I'll keep this one to myself for now.
"I've always told myself that I'd win big one day. I would always see that someone in my area had won the Lotto on social media and I knew that I'd be next.
"I've always played the same numbers. The first game is my kid's birthday, and the second game is my favourite numbers.
"I told my partner, mum and mother-in-law, and no one knew what to say.
"Then came the comments of, 'Finally! You guys can buy a house!'.
"We'll definitely be buying a house, and I'll treat my wife to a new car.
"Thank you!"
His winning marked System 9 entry was purchased via The Lott app - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
