Police are investigating a burglary and evade police that occurred this afternoon at Cardwell and Mission Beach, Queensland Police say.
At about 12.30pm, a man entered a residence on Marine Parade, Cardwell. The man confronted a female occupant of the house and demanded her car keys.
The woman refused to provide her keys resulting in the man assaulting the woman and taking the car keys and a white Suzuki hatchback.
Police attempted to intercept the man at Mission Beach by deploying a tyre deflation device however were unsuccessful.
The woman received minor injuries as a result of the incident but did not require any medical treatment.
Investigations are continuing.
