Burglary Arrest in South Kalgoorlie, WA

Kalgoorlie Volume Crime Team officers have charged two people after a burglary in South Kalgoorlie yesterday, 6 February 2018.

It will be alleged around 2:55pm, four people forced entry into a home on George Street. They stole various items before fleeing on foot. Police located two of the people a short distance from the home, WA Police say.

A 15 year old boy from Boulder has been charged with:-

•Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit;

•Stealing; and

•Steal a Motor Vehicle.

He is due to appear before the Kalgoorlie Children’s Court on 27 February 2018.

A 20 year old man from Baynton has been charged with:-

•Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit; and

•Stealing.

He is due to appear before the Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on 12 February 2018.

Kalgoorlie Police are investigating if an incident that occurred prior to the above burglary is linked. Just after 1pm yesterday (6 February2018), Police attempted to stop a silver Holden Commodore with false plates travelling on Boulder Road. The driver did not stop and evaded police through several streets before officers lost sight of the vehicle on O’Connor Street.

Police located the vehicle around 2:45pm abandoned on Cheetham Street, South Kalgoorlie. During a search of the vehicle police located a large number of items including clothing, jewellery, gold nuggets and toiletry items which are believed to be stolen property.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information they may assist police is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
