Burglary with violence, Parkwood

Detectives are appealing for public assistance following a burglary with violence in Parkwood last night.

Around 11pm a man has broken into a Woodstock Court address and taken the keys to a vehicle, before threatening the male occupant and fleeing the home.

The occupant armed himself with a baseball bat and attempted to stop the man driving off. Following a short struggle, the occupant struck his vehicle with the bat, causing the driver's side mirror to fall off and the windscreen to break.

The man fled in the vehicle, running over the occupant's foot, causing a significant and serious injury.

The vehicle was found abandoned just before 1am at Chichester Drive, Arundel.

Investigators are appealing for residents and businesses in Parkwood and Arundel to come forward with relevant CCTV or dashcam vision picturing the vehicle, a black 2007 Holden Captiva station wagon with Queensland Registration 587VPI and the man, described as pacific islander in appearance with a solid build, wearing a navy blue cap and surgical mask.
