ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: The active fire edge is approximately 21km from Canteen Creek. The sandy terrain is making containment difficult along the western edge. Crews have been working on foot to control the fire edge moving west and south-west however the fire behaviour is too intense, and they have ceased. Back burning operations are continuing along the Barkly Highway to provide a containment line should the fire on the north-eastern side continue to track towards the Highway.
