In actual terms, the volume of finished goods stocks for total manufacturing fell 4.2 percent ($452 million) in the March 2024 quarter compared with the March 2023 quarter.
In actual terms, total manufacturing purchases fell $893 million (3.7 percent), and salaries and wages rose $180 million (3.8 percent) compared with the March 2023 quarter.

Wholesale trade
When adjusted for seasonal effects, the total value of wholesale trade sales rose 0.8 percent ($294 million) in the March 2024 quarter, following a 0.9 percent ($361 million) fall in the December 2023 quarter.
