The Hodgman Majority Liberal Government is the strongest supporter of our businesses, and job creation is our number one priority.
Since we began the process of developing the Small Business Growth Strategy in August, I’m pleased to announce we have had 70 Tasmanian small businesses take part in our state-wide roundtable sessions and received 118 submissions to our public survey.
The Small Business Growth Strategy will outline how the Government and private sector can build on the unprecedented high levels of business confidence; ensure Government policies are aligned with industry goals and targets; and take advantage of emerging opportunities in our economy.
The Strategy will be delivered through a partnership with business and industry representatives though the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tasmanian Small Business Council.
This week’s results from the Sensis Business Index confirms Tasmanian businesses are the strongest in the nation, which proves our plan to take Tasmanian businesses to the next level is working.
But there is much more to do, and I look forward to releasing this strategy soon in concert with the TCCI and the Small Business Council which will ensure all Tasmanian businesses can take advantage of a booming economy.
