A vibrant pop art installation called Butterfly Kisses will open in Rosalind Park's Conservatory on Tuesday March 16.
The Conservatory's greenery provides the backdrop for the new installation from local artist Chris Duffy (aka 'Ha Ho Art'), which was created during the COVID-19 lockdowns last year.
The artist imagined The Conservatory as a butterfly house and this concept was developed to become large butterflies blown in by a kiss.
Ten double-sided butterfly cut-outs are suspended throughout the space as well as a large mural featuring a woman blowing butterfly kisses.
Butterfly Kisses is part of the City of Greater Bendigo's Art in the Conservatory program which sees various free temporary art installations hosted in the space.
Acting Manager Bendigo Venues and Events Jacoba Kelly said the pop art installation coincided with the opening of Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary at Bendigo Art Gallery on March 20.
"Butterfly Kisses is an homage to the pop art era of the 1960s when Mary Quant's bold and vibrant fashion was emerging as an international brand," Ms Kelly said.
"Chris Duffy brings a lot of fun and energy in this installation and our beautiful Conservatory provides an impressive backdrop."
Butterfly Kisses is on display in the Conservatory until March 26.
