Byron Shire Council is looking for an experienced contract Event Manager to deliver Byron Bay's much loved, family friendly New Year's Eve celebration, Soul Street 2026.
Established in 2014, Soul Street is a free, community focussed event held throughout the Byron Bay town centre and along the Main Beach foreshore.
The event features live entertainment, experiences and vibrant place activation across multiple locations.
"This is an exciting opportunity for an event manager to work with Council to shape and deliver this much loved event across two stages, working with our incredible creatives and performers in one of the best locations in the world," Council's Community Cultural Development Coordinator, Melitta Firth, said.
Council delivers Soul Street as an accessible, place activation event, using performance and participation strategies to manage risk and reduce potential impacts associated with crowds, traffic congestion, and drug and alcohol related harm.
The successful Event Manager will be responsible for the procurement, coordination, management and delivery of all contracted event services and equipment, including:
- Entertainment and participatory events
- Staging and production
- Security services
- Site management
- Food vendors, waste and sustainability measures.
The event will be activated across Jonson Street and Dening Park on the Main Beach foreshore, with Council providing a range of support including traffic control.
