Cabramatta man charged over DV assault, NSW

A woman has suffered facial injuries after allegedly being assaulted by her partner at Cabramatta, NSW Police say.

Police have been told the 30-year-old woman and two children, aged three and 11 months, were allegedly held against their will in a home unit in Church Street Cabramatta.

Police will allege over the past two days a man threatened his partner before hitting her and cutting her hair.

The woman escaped with her children today and alerted police.

Police from Cabramatta Local Area Command have now searched the unit, seizing two knives.

About 4pm, officers arrested a 49-year-old man and took him to Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with three offences:

• Take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage occasioning actual bodily harm

• Assault occasioning actual bodily harm

• Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm

The man was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.
