CALD Consultative Group's First Meeting Of Year

The Queensland Police Service's (QPS) Culturally and Linguistic Diverse (CALD) Consultative Group has come together in Brisbane for the first time this year.

Members contributed to productive discussions surrounding strengthening organisational cultural capability and to better assist the diverse needs of the QPS' diverse workforce.

The CALD Consultative Group meetings involve members consulting on multicultural affairs and considering ways to establish opportunities for organisational improvement to further drive cultural inclusion within the QPS.

Initiatives of the CALD Consultative Group includes:

  • Development of the Multicultural Network logo.
  • Harmony Week celebrations.
  • Establishment of the QPS Multicultural Network.
  • The QPS calendar of culturally significant events.
  • Commencement of the multicultural newsletter.

The group's key area of focus for 2024 is strengthening the QPS Multicultural Network and enhancing culturally responsive support and advocacy within the QPS.

The group will meet bi-monthly, contributing to the QPS's healthy, safe, inclusive and positive workplaces.
