CALD Expert Advisory Group Meeting Summary March 2026

The Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (CALD) Expert Advisory Group met online on Tuesday 10 March 2026.

The meeting focused on:

  • CALD engagement insight report
  • publishing details of the CALD Expert Advisory Group on the NDIS website
  • the CALD Strategy 2024-2028 action review.

CALD Engagement Insight Report

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) shared a report about CALD community experiences with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The report was based on engagement with the community between October and December 2025.

The NDIA asked:

  • if members wanted to get a new report at each meeting.
  • for feedback on the report.

Members provided feedback:

It is important to report what participants are saying about the NDIS.

Members suggested changes that would make the report easier to understand.

CALD Expert Advisory Group website content

The NDIA shared a proposal to publish information about the CALD Expert Advisory Group on the NDIS website.

This would include:

  • the role of the group
  • a list of members
  • summaries of formal meetings.

Members supported the proposal to publish details of the CALD Expert Advisory Group on NDIS website.

CALD Strategy 2024-2028 action review

The NDIA shared an update on the review of the CALD Strategy.

The action plan under the CALD Strategy is being reviewed to:

  • Clarify some actions.
  • Align actions with the reforms to the NDIS

The NDIA will continue working with Members on the action review outside of the formal meetings.

Members provided feedback:

  • It is important for the NDIA to continue to focus on actions in the CALD Strategy.
  • Actions should be made relevant for new and old ways of planning.

Next meeting

The CALD Expert Advisory Group's next formal meeting is on Tuesday 2 June 2026.
