Call for engagement specialists to tender for Sunshine Coast public transport project

Sunshine Coast Council

Sunshine Coast Council is calling for engagement specialists to submit tenders to prepare and deliver a community engagement strategy for the Sunshine Coast mass transit business case.

Transport Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said council understood the importance of community and stakeholders having the opportunity to share their views, expertise and ideas to help shape a critical public transport solution for our growing region.

"The community engagement framework, endorsed by council in August, provides the basis for a detailed and comprehensive engagement program to ensure the options analysis phase of the mass transit business case is informed by stakeholder and community feedback," Cr Baberowski said.

Engagement specialists are invited to submit their ideas on how the consultation should be run.

Submissions must be received by Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

Community consultation will be underway in the first half of 2021. Feedback will be incorporated into the options analysis report before it is considered by council.

Should council approve the options analysis report, it will be provided to the Queensland Government for assurance review before work begins on the preparation of a detailed business case.

This process is in line with Building Queensland's Business Case Development Framework, which ensures a consistent and rigorous approach to proposal development, enabling decision-makers to compare investment opportunities.

Building Queensland provides the Queensland Government with independent, expert advice on major infrastructure.
