Camdale fatal crash

Sadly police can confirm a Smithton man died at the scene of a crash at Camdale this morning.

Around 7.15am emergency services responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on the Bass Highway.

The crash between a silver Subaru Forester and black Ford Ranger occurred near the intersection of Bass Highway and East Cam Road.

Sadly the driver of the Subaru, a 60-year-old man from Smithton died at the scene.

The driver of the Ranger, a 17-year-old man from Somerset, was not physically injured in the crash.

At this stage it is believed the crash was the result of a medical episode.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
