Campaspe Shire Council is bringing festive joy to life once again, with Christmas decorations and activities lighting up towns across the region throughout December. This year's featured Illumination Stations include giant reindeer Twinklehoof in Rochester, Jolly Santa with his 'Aussie sleigh' and the giant glowing gift box in Echuca, and a large Christmas Tree in Kyabram.
Illumination Stations add to the festive atmosphere in our towns and have become a holiday highlight for residents and visitors alike. They make fantastic photo opportunities when sharing special memories with family and friends.
Locals and visitors are encouraged to share their festive snaps using the hashtags #ChristmasinCampaspe and #IlluminationStation to be featured on Council's social media.
Alongside the dazzling Illumination Stations, towns across Campaspe are hosting a wide variety of Christmas events, offering something for all ages to enjoy - from carols and craft markets to storytime sessions and art installations.
Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said "There's something festive happening in every corner of Campaspe, including the Christmas sound walk in Girgarre to the decorated bell tower in Rushworth, Santa's sleigh in Lockington, and the Colbo Pub Choir carol trail in Colbinabbin.
"Every town has added its own flavour to the season, and it's well worth taking the time to explore and enjoy the atmosphere. Cr added.
Cr Mackrell shared his appreciation for the many community groups who have been busy organising events and activities across Campaspe in recent months.
"Our towns feel alive this time of year, and that's thanks to the passionate locals who put in the hard yards behind the scenes.
"It's all helping to build a festive atmosphere and giving families, especially those visiting for the holidays, a chance to make some really special memories together.
"To help you make the most of the season, our Christmas in Campaspe booklet is your go-to guide for festive events and decorations around the shire," Cr Mackrell added.
Copies of the booklet are available at any Council service centres and libraries, Echuca Moama Visitor Information Centre (Located at Shop 1, Shackell's Bonded Store, Murray Esplanade) and various locations around the municipality, as well as via Council's website www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/trails .
