Campbelltown City Council has welcomed the NSW Government's announcement of a new Integrated Health Hub in Campbelltown's CBD, a significant investment that will improve access to healthcare services for residents while helping to ease pressure on the region's busy hospitals.
The new Integrated Health Hub forms part of a $35 million investment by the NSW Government in community-based healthcare across the Macarthur region and will provide a range of non-acute services including primary care, preventative healthcare, chronic disease management and early intervention services in one convenient location.
The announcement is a major win for Campbelltown and the wider Macarthur region.
"As our community continues to grow, it is vital that health services grow with it. The new Integrated Health Hub will provide residents with easier access to the care and support they need, closer to where they live, work and study," said Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Darcy Lound.
"By bringing together primary care, preventative health services and chronic disease management in a central location, this project will help improve health outcomes while reducing pressure on our hospitals and emergency departments."
"On behalf of Council and our community, I would like to thank the NSW Government for this significant investment in Campbelltown. This funding demonstrates confidence in our city and recognises the important role Campbelltown plays as the regional centre of the Macarthur area."
"We are very excited to see this project progress and look forward to working with the NSW Government and health partners to ensure local residents benefit from greater access to quality healthcare services for years to come," said Cr Lound.
Council welcomes the investment and its potential to deliver better healthcare outcomes, support a growing population and strengthen the city's role as a leading centre for health, education and innovation.
