Can you identify these items of clothing?

Westgate Highway Patrol officers have released images of clothing a critically injured pedestrian was wearing the night she was struck by a car in an effort to identify her.

The woman was crossing Leakes Road in Truganina when she was hit by a white sedan about 4.35am on Wednesday, 29 November.

She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where she remains.

The female driver was not injured, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators have released images of the clothing the woman was wearing in the hope someone may recognise them.

The injured pedestrian is described as African in appearance with a small build, approximately 166cm tall with a scar on her forehead and burn scars on her right leg.

She was wearing a black puffer jacket, pink platform sneakers and dark-coloured pants.

Investigators believe a number of cars drove past the scene at the time and are keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage.

Any witnesses or anyone with information that could help identity the woman is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
