Canada Backs Leduc Green Initiatives

Infrastructure Canada

Today, the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, and His Worship Bob Young, Mayor of the City of Leduc, announced a federal investment of $205,431 to support upgrades to the Civic Centre Municipal Building and the annual tree purchase in Leduc.

Funding for these projects will upgrade a local landmark building and improve public spaces for residents of Leduc. The annual tree purchase will replace trees lost to disease and pests over the years. Investing in new trees for a healthier outdoor environment will enhance Leduc's natural spaces that are so well utilized by residents and visitors year-round.

Upgrades to the Civic Center Municipal Building will result in improved air flow and a renewed space through replacing and improving air volume units, pipe fittings and piping for better control of room temperature. By modernizing and increasing the efficiency of this building, it helps create a safer and more welcoming place for workers and visitors.

By investing in infrastructure, the Government of Canada is growing our country's economy, building resilient communities, and improving the lives of Canadians.
