March 4, 2026 · Saint-Quentin, New Brunswick · Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)

The expansion of community services is key to supporting regional economic growth. Today, Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault, Member of Parliament for Madawaska-Restigouche, on behalf of the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, announced a $500,000 repayable contribution for the town of Saint-Quentin.

The contribution will support the expansion of La Moisson public library, including the addition of three multi-purpose rooms that will allow for the expansion of community programs. The project will boost productivity and growth for local businesses through training and workshops and provide a place for the community to come together and share knowledge.

Today's announcement demonstrates how the Government of Canada is supporting the enhancement of community services and contributing to the vitality of rural communities. Through our contributions to projects that expand access to learning, community support and economic development, we are bolstering civic engagement and promoting inclusion and community participation in the local economy.
