Canada Bay Businesses Win Big at Inner West Awards

The City of Canada Bay business community is celebrating an outstanding result at the Inner West Local Business Awards, with locals taking home awards across a diverse range of categories.

The wins follow a strong showing from the local business community, with dozens of City of Canada Bay businesses nominated across the awards program.

City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna congratulated all local winners, finalists and nominees, saying the results reflected the strength, talent and community spirit of businesses across the area.

"Local businesses are at the heart of our community, Mayor Megna said. They create jobs, support families, activate our town centres and help make the City of Canada Bay such a vibrant place."

"To see so many local businesses nominated, and so many go on to win, is a fantastic achievement. Council is incredibly proud to celebrate their success."

City of Canada Bay winners at the Inner West Local Business Awards included:

  • Beauty Services - Riyana Sando Makeup Artist, Concord West

  • Early Childhood Centre - ToBeMe Early Learning, Five Dock

  • Health Improvement Services - Peak Fitness Health Hub, Concord

  • Most Inclusive Employer - WOTSO North Strathfield

  • Performing Arts - Dorothy Cowie School of Dancing, Drummoyne

  • Restaurant - Oliveto Ristorante & Bar, Rhodes

  • Service & Trade - InHaus Designs, Rhodes

  • Youth Award - Gianluca Papa, Pasticceria Papa, Five Dock

Mayor Megna said the results showcased the variety and quality of businesses operating across the City of Canada Bay.

"From early learning and hospitality to health, trades and beauty these awards show the breadth of talent in our local business community," Mayor Megna said.

"Every nomination is a recognition of hard work, customer service and contribution to the community, and we congratulate all businesses who were part of this year's awards."

The City of Canada Bay has a year-round program of business support, including through its business event series, which feature practical sessions such as a recent AI workshop helping local businesses build skills and confidence to use emerging technology.

"We know that running a business takes hard work, creativity and commitment. Our role is to keep investing in our town centers, and backing our business community, championing their achievements and helping create the conditions for them to thrive."
