Today, the Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada, announced that the Government of Canada is matching donations made to the Canadian Red Cross' 2026 appeal for flooding in Manitoba.
Flooding in the Parkland Region of Manitoba this summer prompted numerous local states of emergency, evacuations, and caused significant damage to homes, farms, businesses, public buildings, healthcare facilities, and infrastructure.
The Government of Canada recognizes the hardship that this flooding has had on local residents. To support those experiencing significant impacts, the federal government is matching all eligible donations from individual Canadians and corporations made to the Canadian Red Cross' 2026 flood appeal for Manitoba.
In addition, the federal government will also match all eligible donations from individual Canadians and corporations made to the Canadian Red Cross for the flooding that took place in Ottawa in July 2026.
