Canberra's outdoor swimming season is set to return, with Government pools at Dickson, Manuka and Civic reopening for the warmer months.
The seasonal pools will welcome swimmers back after their winter closure, providing more opportunities for Canberrans to get active, cool off and enjoy the outdoors throughout spring and summer.
Manuka Pool will reopen from Saturday, 24 October, Dickson Pool will open from Saturday, 31 October and Canberra Olympic Pool will open from Sunday, 1 November.
During winter, the ACT Government invested over $400,000 in upgrades across the three seasonal pools to keep the facilities running smoothly.
At Dickson Pool, improvements have included three new electric barbeques, landscaping works, repainting of the toddler pool concourse and the replacement of a water bubbler.
At Canberra Olympic Pool, the lifeguard station has been upgraded to support safety and staff response times for the dive pool. The external dive pool was drained for works to seal and paint the pool shell, while the toddler pool and surrounding concourse was repainted.
A range of maintenance and improvement works have occurred at Manuka Pool in preparation for the new season.
Dickson Pool offers a 50-metre pool, heated learners pool, toddler pool and splash park, providing options for swimmers and families of all ages.
Canberra Olympic Pool is located in the heart of Canberra City. The facility consists of a 50-metre indoor heated pool, toddler pool, outdoor dive pool, fully-equipped gym with access to group fitness classes, change rooms, showers and kiosk facilities.
Manuka Pool has been part of Canberra's swimming history since 1931 and remains one of the city's most distinctive sporting facilities, combining its heritage character with opportunities for lap swimming, recreation, and learn-to-swim programs.
Opening hours, entry fees, memberships, and program information are available through the Dickson Pool, Manuka Pool and Canberra Olympic Pool websites.
