Cannabis located during traffic stop, Alligator Creek

A man has been charged after four kilograms of cannabis was located hidden inside a vacuum cleaner during the search of a car at Alligator Creek overnight.

Just before 7pm, police intercepted a vehicle containing two men on Alligator Creek Road, just south of Alligator Creek. During a search of the vehicle, police located the cannabis within the industrial sized vacuum cleaner, along with a grinder and vapour machine inside the boot of the car.

One of the men, aged 32 of Little Mountain was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of utensils. He was charged at the Townsville watchhouse and is due to reappear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on April 12.
