The Canungra Police Station has been allocated a new police vehicle.
The Queensland Police Service made the decision after careful consideration of a range of factors.
Police examine calls for service data, crime trend analysis and population statistics.
These decisions are always made by senior police management, free of political interference.
Police Minister said the Queensland Police Service advised him it had allocated the new car to Canungra after a comprehensive review.
"The police constantly review all options available to ensure the best possible service is provided to the people of Queensland, no matter where they live.
"Canungra now joins North Tamborine Police Station as a two-car policing operation.
"The allocation of an extra police car may not sound like a big deal to people living in metropolitan areas, but it illustrates what modern policing is all about.
"The Queensland Police is acknowledged internationally as a world class operation and that is partly based on the service's adoption of a borderless policing philosophy with an emphasis on mobility and agility.
"And thanks to the adoption of the latest technology like the QLiTE tablet devices that police now carry, they spend far less time at the office and a lot more time on the road.
"It means communities see more police out on the street, more often.
"It also means police need the vehicles to keep them moving.
"The people of Canungra and the surrounding region can always be assured the Queensland Police Service is constantly evaluating strategies to act in their best interests," Minister Ryan said.
