Car crashes into home at Albury

Police are investigating after a car crashed into a house in Albury overnight.

Just after midnight (Friday 28 August 2020), officers from Murray River Police District were called to Amalfi Drive, Lavington, after reports a car had crashed into a house.

Police have been told a Holden Commodore was travelling through the intersection of Amalfi Drive and Jackling Drive when it left the road and crashed into the front of the property. The driver had left the scene before police arrived.

A woman inside the home was not injured; however, the house sustained significant damage.

Following inquiries, officers attended Albury Base Hospital about 12.35am (Friday 28 August 2020) after the alleged driver, a 19-year-old woman, presented with facial injuries.

She underwent mandatory testing. Inquiries are continuing.
