Car crashes into Paralowie home

Police are investigating after a car crashed into a home at Paralowie tonight.

Police and emergency services were called to Boyaca Court just before 5.30pm on Friday 27 August, after reports a car collided into a house.

Western District patrols found the car wedged inside the home. The car had driven through a front bedroom and hit an internal wall which collapsed and trapped a woman in the bathroom.

The resident, an 85-year-old woman, was trapped for about an hour and a half before fire crews rescued her. She was taken by SAAS to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.

The driver, a 42-year-old man from Victoria, was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries and a sample of his blood will be taken for analysis.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
