Car lands beside railway lines in Panania

A woman has been taken to Liverpool Hospital after her car crashed through a barrier coming to rest beside railway tracks at Panania this afternoon, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Carson Street shortly before 2pm today, when the sedan drove through the fence, continued down an embankment and hit a large tree.

The tree then fell onto the railway tracks.

The woman was assisted from the vehicle and did not appear to have sustained serious injuries; however, she was taken to Liverpool Hospital to be checked as a precaution as well as undergoing mandatory testing.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
