Car on rail corridor in Westmead

A man has been taken to hospital after crashing onto the rail corridor in Sydney’s west this morning, NSW Police say.

About 7.20am (Thursday 1 November 2018), emergency services were called to Park Parade, near Hassal Street, Westmead, after reports of a crash near Parramatta Railway Station.

Police have been told the vehicle was travelling west on Park Parade when it hit a fence and continued onto the rail corridor.

The driver and sole occupant, a man believed to be aged in his 30s or 40s, was taken to Westmead Hospital with head and facial injuries.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command attended and remain at the scene.

Trains on the Western Line are affected.
