Car stolen at Torrensville, South Australia

Police are investigating after a car was stolen at knifepoint at Torrensville last night.

The victim was sitting in his car, waiting to start his cleaning job, about 10.40pm in Shipster Street, Torrensville when five young men walked past his car. They turned back, surrounded the car and threatened the victim with a metal pole and knife, demanding money and demanding he get out of the car.

The five men then jumped in the gold Honda Civic and took off, north along Shipster Street.

Fortunately, the victim was not physically injured during the robbery.

The stolen car was found 20 minutes later by police dumped in the car park at the Brickworks Marketplace at Torrensville. It was seized for forensic examination.

Western District CIB detectives are investigating.
