Car Wreck Fires - Pelham, TAS

At 8.00 am this morning Police have attended a report of up to 50 car wrecks on fire in a wrecking yard on private property on Pelham Road, Pelham.  A man who lives there is assisting police with their inquiries.  The Tasmania Fire Service were advised, and have attended this property previously in relation to fires, Tasmania Police say.

Detective Inspector Joel said: ‘the car wrecks may have some value but investigations are yet to determine if they were driveable or their combined value, if any’.

Bridgewater CIB detectives and forensic police have gone to the property to determine the cause of the fire and whether it is suspicious or otherwise.
