Cash And Drugs Located In Vehicle In Geelong

Police have arrested two people after a stash of drugs and cash was located in a shopping centre carpark in Geelong on Friday.

Police were called after security reported an allegedly stolen vehicle was observed arriving around 6.30pm on 15 August.

The man and a woman who arrived in the vehicle were arrested as they left a store inside the Malop Street centre, allegedly with stolen clothing.

A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted, and police located over $100,000 in cash as well as drugs including what is alleged to be a commercial quantity of heroin and methamphetamine.

A 47-year-old Maidstone man has been charged with possession of a commercial quantity of Methamphetamine.

He has been remanded to appear in Geelong Magistrates' Court tomorrow, 18 August.

A 34-year-old Corio woman was released pending further enquiries.
