Caught out in Hampton Park

Officers from State Highway Patrol - South East have completed an intelligence lead traffic operation in Hampton Park.

An Automatic Number Plate Recognition site was set up in the vicinity of Pound Road on Thursday 19 September.

In a five hour period police detected 66 offences which included 14 unauthorised drivers and 10 unregistered vehicles.

Six drivers had their cars impounded with each of them facing $1005 in towing costs.

A 23-year-old man from Cranbourne was booked for unlicensed driving about 1pm as he was on his way to his licence test.

A 34-year-old man from Noble Park was also intercepted for unlicensed driving and also failed a roadside drug test.

More operations are planned in the future.
