CCAF commences 50th anniversary celebration

The Community College of the Air Force will host a series of events to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The official kick-off event began with Governor Kay Ivey signing a proclamation to recognize CCAF's long standing relationship with the community on Feb. 28.

"We are honored that Gov Ivey took the time to recognize the hard work and achievements of CCAF after 50 years of service," said Lt. Col. Kevin Pond, CCAF commander and commandant.

Other events scheduled include the opening day ceremony highlighted by the opening of the CCAF 50-year time capsule; a Q&A session with one of CCAF success story members, Mr. Anthony Melchiorri, and a historic CCAF 50th Anniversary graduation hosted by Lt. Gen. James Hecker, Air University commander, with Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force JoAnne Bass.
