CCTV appeal after armed robbery - East Maitland

Detectives have released CCTV images as they continue to investigate an armed robbery in East Maitland earlier this year.

About 5.20am on Thursday 27 May 2021, a man entered a service station on Newcastle Road, East Maitland, and threatened a 28-year-old male attendant with a tomahawk.

The man demanded cash before fleeing the scene on foot, he was last seen headed west on High Street.

Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District attended and established a crime scene.

As investigations are ongoing, officers have released two CCTV images of a man police believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, approximately 170cm to 175cm tall, of average build with a light brown patchy/stubble beard.

He was wearing a black hooded jumper with a green jacket over the top, a black baseball cap, black tracksuit pants and black running shoes.
