CCTV released after suspicious fires in Dallas

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV of a man they believe may be able to assist their investigation into three suspicious fires in Dallas on 14 January.

Emergency services were called to the fires at Laura Douglas Reserve about 7.15pm.

It is alleged a man piled timber and branches against a tree, before lighting the stack on fire.

Nearby civilians noticed the fire and quickly worked to extinguish the flames.

It is believed the man may have visited a hotel in Coolaroo prior to the fires being set and may have returned afterwards.

The offender is described as being approximately 50 years old and thinly built with a white beard. He was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt, grey pants and smoking.
