Detectives are appealing for information as an investigation continues into a robbery in Muswellbrook earlier this year.
About 10pm on Friday 22 May 2026, police were called to a bottle shop on the corner of Maitland Road and Sydney Street.
At the scene, police were told three people forced entry to the business and assaulted an employee before stealing alcohol.
A crime scene was established by officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District and an investigation commenced.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 17-year-old boy at Muswellbrook Police Station on Monday 25 May 2026.
He was charged with robbery in company and 10 unrelated offences,
- Break and enter house etc steal value less than $60000
- Break and enter house etc destroy etc property less than $60000
- Aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence
- Steal motor vehicle
- Drive conveyance taken without consent of owner
- Destroy or damage property (two counts)
- Destroy etc property in company use fire etc value more than $5000, and
- Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence (two counts).
He was refused bail to appear before a children's court on Monday 25 May 2026. He was granted conditional bail and is next due to appear before a children's court on Tuesday 15 September 2026.
As inquiries into the incident continue, detectives have now released CCTV images of a woman who might be able to assist police with inquiries. She is depicted wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, with black pants and white sneakers.
Detectives have also released CCTV of a black Holden Cruze sedan seen in the area the time of the incident.
