CCTV switched on at playground

Security camera surveillance in the Armidale central business district has been extended to the new Curtis Park playground, with a new CCTV camera now operational.

The new digital CCTV camera was switched on late last month, to help improve security and address vandalism at the playground precinct.

"The playground continues to be extremely popular with families and the extension to our CCTV network in the CBD will help protect the condition of this wonderful new asset," Council's Interim Administrator, Viv May, said.

"The digital camera provides excellent images in low light, which will assist greatly with surveillance at times when the playground isn't bustling with families."

The playground was officially opened in October and was funded by a million-dollar grant from the State Government.
