CEO Appointed for NT Health

Chief Minister and Minister for Health Natasha Fyles has today announced the appointment of Dr Marco Briceno as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NT Health.

Dr Briceno is a long term Territorian committed to improving health outcomes in the Territory and is a well-respected and trusted senior clinician and leader.

Dr Briceno has been acting as CEO for NT Health since October 2022. He is a highly experienced clinician with more than 20 years as a medical practitioner.

For the past 15 years, Dr Briceno has worked in a variety of leadership and management roles which makes him suited to succeed as CEO, including as a system manager and in clinical positions in hospitals and primary health care settings.

With his lengthy experience working in remote communities as a clinician, Dr Briceno has a clear understanding of the Aboriginal health needs unique to the Territory. He is committed to delivering high quality contemporary health services to all Territorians that is sustainable and culturally appropriate.

Dr Briceno was appointed following a national recruitment process.
