BRISBANE, Australia – 3 October 2020 October 2020: The winners of the global 2020 PIEoneer Awards have been announced at a virtual ceremony broadcast from London celebrating outstanding innovation and achievement in international education.

The team from Australian-based student accommodation provider, MyStay International (MSI), joined the online event along with nominees and guests from across the globe.
MSI was the only Australian company shortlisted for Accommodation Provider of the Year alongside six other finalists from the UK and USA, and was announced as a 'highly commended finalists' in this category with Goodenough College, from the United Kingdom taking out the award.
Winners were selected by a distinguished panel of 38 international education specialists who were tasked with judging nominees across 18 categories.
Founder of MSI, David Bycroft, said being nominated as a PIEoneer Awards finalist was a fantastic accomplishment for MSI in what has been a tough year for the industry.
"We've had so many people working so hard to make things happen. It means so much to us that we've got this recognition," he said.
Launched in 2017, The PIEoneer Awards are the only global awards highlighting innovation and achievement across the entire international education industry.
"To be identified by The PIE as one of the best accommodation providers of the year is a real honour and it's a great endorsement of our ongoing mission to deliver a quality international student experience.
"Providing services that focus on safety, wellbeing and cultural immersion has enabled us to positively impact the lives of more than 65,000 students from 183 countries and facilitate lifetime connections around the world."
Mr Bycroft said MSI commended all the organisations and individuals shortlisted for the Awards.
"All the 2020 PIEoneer Awards finalists have demonstrated that they are champions of the international education industry. We are privileged to be part of such an exceptional global community," Mr Bycroft said.
The nomination was a major accolade for MSI as it continues to enhance its offering for international students.
One of MSI's major initiatives for 2020 has been the establishment of the International Student Support Network, a program offering discounted short-term homestay accommodation to vulnerable international students in Australia in need of support and assistance due to the COVID-19 crisis.
MSI's pioneer brand, the Australian Homestay Network, is also preparing to launch a virtual homestay service. The interactive cultural and education program will allow international students to experience life in Australia and improve their English through live stream sessions with a local Australian homestay host.
