Chancellor Appoints Sturrock to Economic Advisors Council

David Sturrock will provide expert economic advice on the government's mission to drive economic growth.

David Sturrock brings extensive expertise from his time at the Institute for Fiscal Studies where he was a Senior Researcher and Associate Director focussing on intergenerational inequality, retirement saving and pensions.

David will work directly with other members of the Council of Economic Advisers and the Chancellor to advise on a range of issues in support of the government's growth mission and delivering the Plan for Change.

Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, said:

My central mission since I became Chancellor has been to drive economic growth across the UK, creating opportunity for hardworking people in every region.

I am delighted to announce that David Sturrock will be joining the Council of Economic Advisors to support me in this mission, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to deliver growth faster and to all parts of the UK.
